Imagine this – you and your closest loved ones have flown to a small Caribbean island of Puerto Rico. This is where you plan to exchange your vows, and get married. Presently, you are standing in at a secluded venue perched on a mountainside, overlooking the delightfully lush rainforest nearby. The tranquil melodies of birdsong fill the air. Horses graze peacefully nearby. Every glance reveals the vibrant splendor of tropical flora. As dawn breaks, you awaken to the gentle smell of morning rain. It’s as if the rain is mingling with the warm embrace of the island breeze. Surely in this moment, you think to yourself, “How is this real life right now?”.

It’s early June, the air is warm and humid. The easy pace of island life makes it all the more enchanting. Although you’re eager for the wedding festivities to begin, you realize something special. There’s an even greater thrill in knowing what lies ahead. You and your spouse are transforming your wedding destination into the honeymoon of your dreams. Together, you emphatically planned excursions and sights to explore across the island. The excitement is palpable. You both are undoubtedly looking forward to the many adventures that will mark the beginning of your married life together.

Alexis and James didn’t have to imagine this because this was their reality. They knew they wanted to do something different and untraditional. For these reasons, they decided to host their wedding celebration at the Hacienda Siesta Alegre. The Hacienda unquestionably provided all of the things they were looking for. They beautifully tailored every decision to the facets of their relationship. They specifically prioritized the things they value most as a couple. I couldn’t imagine a more perfect way that these two could have celebrated.

This wedding day was not just a celebration of love years in the making, but a blend of different cultures, Hispanic design, and the merging of two families who came together in this place to honor Alexis and James. Documenting two people I adore, in a place I’ve grown to love over the years, is one of the highest honors I’ve had. Every trip to the island is memorable one, but this time especially. I will always cherish my time here, with these wonderful people, and their heartfelt hospitality.
