Lana Del Ray collaborates with Vogue for a winter editorial in the secluded countryside, but a couple’s addition. It was clear from our first point of communication that Kayla, Denver, and I were on the same page. We jumped head-first into planning, and the results couldn’t be more stunning.

Finding the Right Location

There were three crucial elements to seamlessly weaving the design of these Washington D.C. couple photos together. First and foremost, the location had to align with the overall energy Kayla and Denver wanted to emulate in their photos. It was important that we maintained the natural colors of winter, including brown earth tones and muted greens. The textures of the field, paired with the vastness of the overlook, added a uniquely dynamic depth to their final gallery. It created the perfect balance between intimacy and grandeur. Beyond aesthetics, the location also offered practical advantages – ample space for movement, varied backdrops, and unobstructed views that allowed for a cinematic approach to framing each shot. From cozy yet tailored outerwear, to rich textures that complemented the cool tones of the season, each element was carefully selected. This ensured both comfort and visual impact. Kayla and Denver elevated their couple portraits into a visual narrative that felt both timeless and intentional.
